Tiafoe sets up All-American Halle Open Final against Fritz
Frances Tiafoe booked his place in the Halle Open final after a convincing 6-1, 6-3 victory over Germany’s Daniel Altmaier on Saturday.
The American needed just over an hour to secure the win and reach his second ATP final of the 2026 season.
With the victory, Tiafoe becomes only the second American man to reach the Halle final since 2004, joining fellow American Taylor Fritz, who also advanced to the championship match earlier in the day.
The final will mark Tiafoe’s first grass-court final since 2023 and the 12th ATP final of his career.
The victory sets up an all-American final against Taylor Fritz.
Fritz and Tiafoe will meet in an all-American Halle Open final, with Fritz holding a dominant 7-1 advantage in their head-to-head record. Tiafoe’s only win over Fritz came back in 2016.
Whoever wins will claim one of the biggest grass-court titles outside of Wimbledon and carry valuable momentum into the season’s third Grand Slam.
