Victor Wembanyama makes NBA Finals History
Victor Wembanyama continues to add his name to the NBA history books.
The San Antonio Spurs star has joined Kobe Bryant and LeBron James as the only players this century to lead their team in scoring entering the NBA Finals at age 22 or younger.
This is rare company for the French phenom, who has already established himself as one of the league’s brightest stars.
Bryant accomplished this with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2001, while James did the same with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2007. Nearly two decades later, Wembanyama has become the latest young superstar to carry his team to basketball’s biggest stage.
At just 22 years old, the Spurs star has already placed himself alongside two of the greatest players the game has ever seen.
For a player still in the early stages of his career, finding his name alongside Kobe Bryant and LeBron James is a remarkable achievement.
