Tottenham Hotspur have taken the player announcement game unto a new level after forcing their new signing to delete tweet.

The London club confirmed the signing of the Irish player today after completing his medicals but this was done in an unusual manner.

As Matt Doherty who joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a reported fee of £15m was seen a video deleting Arsenal posts from his Twitter page.

Some of the Tweets he deleted include ‘I love Arsenal forever and ever’, see the rest of the tweets below.

The club manager, Jose Mourinho also gave his assessment of his new acquisition.

“I hate to play against him, so I’m so happy I won’t play against him again.!” said Jose of the 28-year-old right back.

“I’m so happy that we have him.”
