West Brom heavily linked with a move for John Obi Mikel

West Brom are reportedly interested in signing free agent John Obi Mikel this summer.

The Premier League hopefuls are seriously doing everything to sign the retired Nigeria International who is currently without a club according to reports.

John Obi Mikel who had a successful spell at Chelsea, left the London club for the Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin TEDA before returning back to England with the Championship club Middlesborough.

The two-time Premier League winner enjoyed great success at Boro but their failure to secure a promotion into the Premier League ended his six-month spell at Tony Pulis side in 2019.

John Obi Mikel then joined Turkish giants, Trabzonspor on a two-year deal but he left the club barely a year into his contract because he was not comfortable playing matches during the coronavirus pandemic.

And since he mutually left the Turkish side in March, he has been without a club with rumours linking him to a move to Egypt and Brazil.

But according to Sky Sports, West Brom who would most likely gain promotion into the Premier League next season are very serious about signing the Nigerian.
