Evans stuns Djokovic, hands World number One first defeat of 2021

Britain’s Dan Evans secured his first ever win over world number one, Novak Djokovic at Monte Carlo in the ATP Tour, becoming only the second man after Rafael Nadal to defeat Djokovic on any clay surface since 2019.

Evans, who had never previously won against a top 5 ranked player won the game in straight sets 6-4 7-5 to book his place in the quarterfinal of the ATP Tour at the expense of Novak Djokovic.
