#ITTFAfricaTop16: Quadri, Olajide handed tough opponents as Assar gets two Nigerians playing for other nations

Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri and Omatayo Olajide have been handed very tough opponents at the just concluded draws for the 2020 ITTF Africa top 16 tournament.

Aruna Quadri in group 1 will face off against Algeria’s Kherouf Sami who said he would surprise many at the tournament; Tunisia’s Hman Adam and high flying Ivorian Oba Oba Kizito.

Reigning African champion, Omotayo Olajide in group 3 would play against fast rising Senegalese Diaw Ibrahima; Kassa Gedeon and Bouriah Larbi.

Omar Assar who is the ITTF Africa top 16 defending champion would face off against two Nigerian born players playing their trades for other countries.

Idowu Saheed representing DR. Congo and Olabiyi Monday for Benin Republic are the Nigerians in his group while Sputh Africa’s Cogil Theo made up the final player in the group.

The competition which would be played in Tunisia will start this Sunday 23rd and ends on Wednesday 26th.

The winner of the event would get an automatic ticket to participate at the world cup later this year.
