#ITTFWorlds2021: Quadri historic run ends in quarterfinals

Africa and Nigeria number one, Aruna Quadri has been knocked out of the 2021 ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals.

The Nigerian suffered a 4-2 loss to Sweden’s Truls Moregard in the quarter finals.
Aruna Quadri was looking to secure back-to-back wins against opponent from Sweden after win against Kristian Karlsson in round of 16.

But it was not meant to be as he suffered a 13-11 11-8 2-11 11-4 12-14 11-6 loss in Houston on Saturday.

This brings to an end his historic run becoming the first African to get to the last 16 and last 8 at the championships.

Before his 4-2 loss in the last 8, Quadri had beaten Aliaksandr Khanin 4-0 in the 1st round, Vitor Ishiy 4-2 in the round of 64, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran 4-3 in round 32 and beat Kristian Karlsson 4-3 in the round of 16.
