#ITTFWorlds2021: Quadri, Meshref ease through, Omar beaten

Aruna Quadri started the 2021 ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals win a an easy win on Tuesday.

The Nigerian who is the highest ranked African player at the tournament on-going in Houston, Texas, US dispatched his opponent in straight sets.

Quadri defeated Aliaksandr Khanin 14-12 11-6 11-6 11-5 to advance to the next round.

Egypt’s Dina Meshref began her journey at the 2021 ITTF World Table Tennis Championships with a 4-2 victory over Croat, Mateja Jeger in the first round of the women’s singles.

While fellow compatriot, Omar Assar was handed a devastating 4-1 loss by Lim Jonghoon of South Korea.

Khalid Assar would have wished for a better outcome in his game against Hungary’s Adam Szudi, who seamlessly ran away with a 4-0 win.
