Super Falcons Coach Slams NFF’s ‘Childish’ Response to Criticism

Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum, expressed his disappointment with the response from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) regarding his recent comments on the John Krysinsky podcast. Waldrum described the NFF’s reaction as “childish.”

Waldrum’s concerns arose after the Federation made the decision to remove his assistant coach, Lauren Gregg, when he refused to allow them to impose players on the team ahead of the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

The NFF, through its spokesperson and general secretary, condemned Waldrum for criticizing their actions and demanded an apology. However, Waldrum dismissed their response as childish during another podcast, called The Whistle.

“I saw the NFF response to my previous comments on the other podcast, and it just seemed like a really childish response,” Waldrum stated.

He further expressed his disappointment, saying, “In the two-and-a-half years that I’ve been here, I have never had one time that the federation came to me and asked, ‘What do you need, coach?'”

Despite the challenges he faces, Waldrum emphasized that his motivation comes from the players. Otherwise, he admitted that he would have walked away from the job a long time ago.

The Super Falcons have commenced their training sessions as they prepare for their first match in the 2023 World Cup.
