Watch as Onana’s Blunder Puts Bayern Ahead Against Man Utd
Andre Onana made a costly mistake in Manchester United’s Champions League opener at the Allianz Arena, gifting Bayern Munich the lead.
The former Inter Milan goalie, was entirely at fault as the German champions took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute of the game.
Onana’s blunder came when he failed to stop a relatively tame shot from Leroy Sane, allowing the German winger to score with the very first shot on target.
It was an uncharacteristic error from the Cameroonian international, and it handed Bayern Munich a significant advantage.
To make matters worse for Manchester United, Onana conceded another goal shortly after the first goal through Serge Gnabry low drive.
Remarkably, both of Bayern’s goals came from the only two shots that were on target.
As at the time of this report, Bayern Munich led 2-0, and it was clear that Manchester United had an uphill battle ahead of them. Onana’s early blunder had significantly influenced the course of the match, putting the pressure on his team to mount a comeback.
