Kylian Mbappe surpasses Zidane and Henry records for France

Kylian Mbappe put on a stellar performance in France’s 3-0 victory over Luxembourg, surpassing Zinedine Zidane and Thierry Henry in the record books.

In Wednesday’s match at Stade Saint-Symphorien, Mbappe was involved in all three goals. He assisted Randal Kolo Muani’s opener just before halftime, set up Jonathan Clauss in the 70th minute, and scored the final goal five minutes from the end.

With these contributions, Mbappe’s assists for France reached 27, overtaking Zidane and Henry, who both had 26. Now, only Antoine Griezmann, with 30 assists, stands ahead of Mbappe in the all-time assists for France.

France faced Luxembourg in Metz as part of their preparations for the upcoming Euro 2024 in Germany. Mbappe’s form was crucial, helping Didier Deschamps’ team secure a convincing win.

Recently signed by Real Madrid, Mbappe’s impressive record is expected to grow, possibly surpassing Griezmann soon. For now, he remains focused on leading France, one of the favorites, as they kick off their Euro 2024 campaign against Austria on June 17.
