NLO Kickoff Date Fixed for April 11, 2025, with Increased Participation Fee for 2024/2025 Season
The Nationwide League One (NLO) has confirmed the kickoff date for the 2024/2025 football season, which will begin on Friday, April 11, 2025.
This was announced following the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the league, which was held virtually. One of the key resolutions from the meeting was an increase in the centre participation fee, which has been raised from ₦200,000 to ₦300,000. This fee covers various logistical costs for the clubs, including match indemnities, security, medical services, pitch preparation, and ball boys.
The league also confirmed that the registration fee of ₦300,000, which includes Pre-Competition Medical Assessments, Players’ Registration, Insurance, and Secretariat Management, will remain unchanged despite the rising inflation.
Another important resolution was the adoption of the stadium league format for the upcoming season. With these changes in place, clubs and players will be looking forward to the new season, which kicks off in April.
