Umar Sadiq features in goalless draw as Real Sociedad faces Girona in La Liga

Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq was on the field as Real Sociedad played to a goalless draw against Girona in Saturday’s La Liga fixture.

Sadiq, who marked his 20th appearance, has contributed two goals and one assist in the ongoing season for Real Sociedad. He entered the game in the 87th minute as a substitute for André Silva.

In the clash, the Catalan side, currently in second place, one point behind league leaders Real Madrid, struggled to break through against the Basque visitors. With Real Madrid set to face Atletico Madrid on Sunday, they have the chance to extend their lead to four points.

Girona’s draw keeps them six points ahead of defending champions Barcelona, who currently occupy the third position in the league.

Despite being the top scorers in the league, Michel Sanchez’s team found it challenging to breach Real Sociedad’s defense in the goalless encounter.
