U-20WWC: Falconets stranded in Turkey
Nigeria’s U20 Women’s national, Falconets are reportedly left helpless in Istanbul, Turkey on their way back to Nigeria from Costa Rica.
Falconets who won all three group games suffered a 2-0 defeat in their Quarter-Final game against Netherlands on Sunday evening.
The team reportedly left Costa Rica on Monday by 6:30am and were seen in pictures doing the round on social media sleeping on bare floor and chairs at the Instanbul Airport after staying at a spot for 24 hours..
Without a transist visa it is difficult for the team to secure an accommodation in Turkey.
This begs the question on what logistics the NFF have put in place to help ease the team’s journey back to Nigeria.
No words from any of Falconets or NFF on the course of the delay but no connecting flight should take 24 hours before its departure.
