Alhassan Yusuf branded ‘far too good’ to sit on bench or play on the wings in Sweden

Alhassan Yusuf is certainly the rave of the moment in Sweden after he again shone as IFK Goteborg fought back to draw 1-1 at Kalmar with a top Swedish journalist hailing him as “too good to sit on the bench”.

Yusuf was Man of the Match in his first start on Monday against Helsinborg.

On Thursday at Kalmar, the exciting midfielder was introduced at the start of the second half with Goteborg losing 1-0.

“Kalmar FF – IFK Gothenburg 1–1, it was not a match without quality, we got to see Rasmus Elm here and there, and we got to see Alhassan Yusuf take a step in the right direction,” wrote top journalist Simon Bank for Sport Bladet.

“Alhassan Yusuf is eighteen, and if he is not the type that determines matches, then he is definitely the sort that controls them

“The system shift in the second half gave Blue White (IFK Goteborg) a better shape, but it was Yusuf who gave them a game.

“He covers the pitch, he wins ball, he presses, he drives up pace with a simple, wise, concrete game.

“He is far too good to sit on a bench, probably he is too good to be sent out on the wings as well.”
