NBA Round Up: Cavs hold off Timberwolves, Bulls beat Raptors again
Reigning NBA champions the Cleveland Cavaliers were too good for the Minnesota Timberwolves, while the Chicago Bulls extended their winning streak against the Toronto Raptors.
LeBron James posted a double-double as the Cavaliers held off the Timberwolves 116-108 on Tuesday.
The Bulls made it 11 consecutive wins over the Raptors with a 105-94 victory in Chicago.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings edged the Los Angeles Lakers 97-96.
CAVS ROLL ON
Despite the absence of Kevin Love and a masterful performance from Minnesota’s Andrew Wiggins, the Cavaliers still topped the Timberwolves.
All-Star Love was at home on the mend and set to miss six weeks due to a left knee injury, while Wiggins scored 41 points for the hosts.
But James put up 25 points and 14 assists as the Cavs won for the sixth time in seven games.
BULLS HAVE RAPTORS COVERED
Doug McDermott and All-Star Jimmy Butler starred as the Bulls continued their domination of the Raptors.
McDermott had 20 points and Butler finished with 19 points and 12 assists in a double-double display for the hosts.
The Raptors have not beaten the Bulls since December 31, 2013.
KINGS HOLD ON
DeMarcus Cousins led the Kings once more with his 40 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists against the Lakers.
The Lakers, who were guided by Lou Williams’ 29 points, rallied late but were unable to steal a win on the buzzer.

WARRIORS, THUNDER SEEKING RESPONSE
After losing last time out, the Golden State Warriors host the Kings on Wednesday. The Oklahoma City Thunder are at home to the New York Knicks, while the Cavaliers entertain the Indiana Pacers.
