Bayer Leverkusen Sporting Director backs Victor Boniface to bounce back

The Sporting Director of German Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, Simon Rolfes has expressed confidence that Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface will recover strongly from his injury setback.

Boniface joined Bayer Leverkusen last summer and had a stellar start to the season, scoring 16 goals and providing 9 assists before an injury sidelined him.

Rolfes acknowledged the challenges Boniface faces in returning to form but is optimistic about his recovery.

“After an injury, it’s not easy for Boniface to regain the explosiveness needed for physical and mental duels,” Rolfes stated. “It always takes a little time to regain confidence in yourself and your body. He’ll be in a completely different state at the start of the season.”

Boniface is expected to make a significant impact when the new season begins, once he fully recovers.
